Chef Laurent Tourondel dishes about his Dune on Fort Lauderdale beach

Now that Dune by Laurent Tourondel has been opened for about two weeks, we got the namesake of the Fort Lauderdale beach restaurant to talk about his latest — and some might say most ambitious — project in South Florida. “It’s well-designed,” Tourondel says when asked what the attraction was for the location. “You know, when you sit on the patio and you see the view on the ocean and the beach and it feels so peaceful. It’s nothing you cannot like about it. It’s a great, great location, a great deal. And...the layout for the inside was great. And the kitchen was amazing. I think the patio should be busy, you know?

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — If you've been to the West Palm Beach GreenMarket recently you'll notice a tent with a line longer than most vendors that goes halfway around the block. The line is filled with people wanting to try 100% Indian coffee. Nandini Jaysaprasad and Devid Beil, the owners of Chik·Monk coffee, grow their coffee beans in India. Recently they started importing their beans, roasting them in Tequesta, and selling them in specialty stores, Amazon Prime, and Whole Foods South Florida. 

The Aldi invasion continues: new store opens in former home of Lucky’s, Pearl Artist Supply in Oakland Park

Discount grocer Aldi is poised to open in a storied location in Oakland Park. The company’s newest South Florida store will welcome its first customers on Dec. 17 at 1033 E. Oakland Park Blvd., former home to the short-lived cult favorite Lucky’s Market and before that, Pearl Artist & Craft Supply.
