Ford's Garage Inks Deal to Open Seven Restaurants in South Florida

Ford’s Garage, a budding burger-and-craft-beer franchise that gives the vibe of being in a 1920's service station and/or prohibition bar, is expanding its South Florida footprint. With one restaurant already open and operating in Wellington, the Tampa-based franchise recently signed an agreement for the development of seven new restaurants throughout Broward, Martin, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties.

‘What our residents want’: Miami Beach voters pass 2 a.m. alcohol sales referendum


Miami Beach voters said “Yes” to a 2 a.m. booze ban on Tuesday, approving a non-binding referendum that served as a flash point in a debate over whether the city has outgrown its world-famous entertainment district. A majority of voters supported the ballot question, which asked whether the city should roll back its 5 a.m. last call for alcohol. 

Michelin Guide Is Heading to Florida in 2022

French tire company Michelin announced that it would be bringing its coveted Michelin Guide to the state of Florida in 2022 covering Miami, Orlando, and Tampa. This comes as a partnership with Visit Florida, the state’s official tourism board and marks the fifth destination in the United States for the prestigious restaurant rating system joining guides in New York City, Washington D.C., Chicago, and the state of California.

6 national restaurant, supermarket and convenience store chains we want to see in Florida

Now that a certain West Coast burger chain is being enticed to relocate to the Sunshine State, visions of Florida's future restaurant possibilities are popping into our heads. Sure, Florida already has Shake Shack, Whataburger, a gangbusters White Castle in Orlando and enough Chick-fil-A locations to feed the entire population of Fort Lauderdale. But hey, with acres upon acres of undeveloped former swamp land and a skyrocketing population, the Sunshine State always has room for more. Here are a couple of chain restaurants – plus some grocery stores and general eateries – that we'd love to see in Florida.

Wells Coffee Opens Second Location in Fort Lauderdale

There’s a new place to get your buzz on in Fort Lauderdale. Locally bred Wells Coffee Company has opened its second cafĂ©, and, for Fort Lauderdale coffee loyalists, the location is super-familiar. The coffee shop is housed in the former brick-and-mortar home of Grind Coffee Project in the city’s Tarpon River neighborhood. The outpost beams with a wall of windows and is anchored by a glowing blue bar with a white subway tile backsplash. Inside, the menu of coffee concoctions ranges from pour-overs to horchata cold brew to latte art gems – all anchored by Wells’ freshly roasted beans.
