How Seminole Hard Rock chef Buddha Lo wowed Padma Lakshmi on ‘Top Chef: Houston’

After surviving the elimination challenge on a recent episode of Bravo’s “Top Chef: Houston,” Buddha Lo crafted a dessert that knocked the judges flat. The executive chef of Marky’s Caviar Lounge at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood baked a scratch everything bagel topped with salmon tartare, cream cheese bavarois and buttermilk scallion dressing with help from his teammate, Los Angeles chef Jackson Kalb. Lo then made a dessert that mimicked the look of an everything bagel: white chocolate panna cotta, strawberry jelly, and strawberry bon bons with cream cheese.

The Fitz Bar & Lounge is a new hidden gem in downtown Fort Lauderdale (Shhh, let’s keep it that way!)

Just opened along the Brightline tracks in an off-the-beaten-track area of downtown Fort Lauderdale, the Fitz should be your new favorite bar. There is nothing extraordinary about the place, a narrow brick-lined room wedged among nondescript warehouses in Tarpon River, its beers, cocktails and elevated food-truck bar menu served under a bank of TVs flickering with old-school 1980s-2000s music videos.

With so many dining options here in foodie-fabulous SoFlo, we thought we’d help you out with a list — in no particular order — of some of our favorite restaurant offers for Easter and Passover in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Passover is April 15-23 and Easter is April 17.
